Damian has a healthy competitive spirit and played grade cricket and rugby union in Queensland and Victoria and grew up sailing and playing soccer, tennis and golf. Following a decade working in leadership roles across the clinical and rehabilitation sectors and receiving a Clinical Associate Award from La Trobe University for his services to undergraduate education, Damian transitioned his professional career into the hotel and entertainment industry and in 1995 joined Melbourne’s Hilton on the Park working his way through intensive training and leadership programs across 6 years.

It was with this knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit that Damian accepted an Operational Leadership role with the prestigious Kingston Heath Golf Club in Melbourne, where he supported the event management of the 2000 Australian Open and was instrumental in the implementation of necessary cultural change across the sales, operational and staff development areas at Kingston Health.

Despite his passion for sport and golf, Damian returned to the Hotel Sector where he became General Manager of Mornington Peninsula’s 5-star boutique hotel, winery, restaurant, meetings and event business, Lindenderry at Red Hill. During this time, Damian worked closely with the Victorian Tourism Network and the Mornington Peninsula Tourism Board to support the development of the Mornington Peninsulas Tourism Strategy that aligned golf tourism, wine tourism with accommodation, meeting and events across the region.

After a short stint consulting across Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula and providing consultancy services to a few private golf clubs, Damian accepted a role as General Manager at Eynesbury Golf and Township which allowed Damian to integrate many of his skills across a diverse and developing township and golf course. Damian’s role was focussed across the sales and marketing aspects of the business which included the creation of a new golf club, staging the inaugural Blue Ribbon Pro-Am Masters Golf Tournament and negotiating the development of the Eynesbury Township postal and community hub along with integrating the Eynesbury Golf Business with the home of harness racing, TABCORP Park.  After returning to Queensland in 2009, Damian spent a year as General Manager of Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club and then built and opened a new restaurant/cafe brand (Coffee Cat) on Kings Beach, Queensland which remains open today as an iconic beach side venue. After selling the cafe in 2014, Damian began business consulting and and joined the Golf Australia Club and Facility Support Team as a consultant.
Today, Damian is based in South East Queensland and operates his business, 'Creating Innovative Teams' and 'Profile Your World' which provides business development support to the Service Industry and Freelance Writing services.

Damian is passinate about delivering exceptional customer experences and undertakes business reviews, business planning and specialist recruitment projects within the golf industry.
